Hover over Romans 1:20-22 for proof of God's existence, and over Matthew 5:27-28 for Judgment Day’s perfect standard. Then hover over John 3:16-18 for what God did, and over Acts 17:30-31 for what to do.

US News and World Report Debate

When US News and World Report received a complaint from the communications director for the National Center for Science Education "that some stuff—such as Ray Comfort's version of On the Origin of Species—gets coverage but no critical commentary," they asked me to be involved in an on-line debate.

Here is the first of a two-part debate. Please feel free to leave a comment:

Gotta Love it...

"Hey Ray. Nice cartoon Gunther made for you this time -- lust, greed, lies, blasphemy, theft. All of these things can be found in the Bible and then some. Gotta love that old time religion!"

The Bible has a whole lot more then lust, greed, lies, blasphemy, and theft in its many pages. It's full of adultery, murder, rape, jealousy, pride, incest, hatred, homosexuality, fornication, and torture, just to name a few.

Perhaps you are not aware that the Scriptures mainly relate the history of the Hebrew nation. It begins with the creation of the first male and female and their tragic fall from fellowship with their Creator. This didn't come because of the eating of an apple (as many believe). It came through the sin of disobedience (see Romans 5:19). Then Scripture traces the same rebellion as it manifested itself in the whole human race. The Bible doesn’t hide the sinful heart of man. It exposes each man’s wickedness and warns that God has appointed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness. So whatever you do, don’t make the mistake of writing off the Bible as being evil, when it simply exposes evil. Has it exposed the evil in your heart yet; or aren't you aware of it?

The amazing thing about this collection of 66 books is that their common thread (through the Old Testament) is God’s promise to release mankind from his greatest enemy--death itself. The New Testament tells us how He did it. See John 3:17-18 for details.

Here we go Again...

"Ray has said that Male and Female evolved as separate species…And he used his 'a dog finally evolves eyes' story very recently on the BBC...Ray is willfully dishonest about evolution." BathTub

It’s hard keeping up with atheists’ distortions of things I have said, but I will try and correct this one, because it is important. I have never said that male and female "evolved as separate species." Rather, I have asked atheists where females came from, and have been told by our resident evolutionary expert that male and female began to exist 400 million years ago. When I asked him for scientific evidence to back up how he knows that this took place, there was silence.

Silence, that is, except for a couple of atheists who quickly ran to his defense with "Why Ray? I have NEVER seen you 'scientifically back up' ANYTHING you have EVER said or written...EVER. He can make a case for this statement but why SHOULD he when all you do is make blind assertions?" Sure. Another atheist jumped in with "Ray, why do you ask for evidence or explanation that you've already told us you're going to refuse? To ask a question you will refuse any answer to seems pointless at best, and intellectually dishonest at worst."

In other words there is no scientific evidence to back up the belief that there were primordial life forms that came from nowhere, created by nothing. These evolved into asexual creatures, then, (according to our resident expert) for some reason each one evolved two sexual organs. Then, for another unknown reason, the 1.4 million species that had evolved on the earth, 400 million years ago all became male and female.

As I have said many times, I have no objection to anyone believing any fantasy they wish. They are quite harmless, unless they became a stumbling block for the salvation of any human being. That’s what atheistic evolution does. Those who believe the fantasy reject God and the account of our genesis. I have, therefore, devoted much of my life and energy into pleading with them to think deeply about the implausible nature of what they believe, and then in the light of that reconsider their rejection of Christianity.

More Boring Parachute Stuff

"Jesus said if you lust, you have already committed adultery. I don't mind saying that Jesus was dead wrong about this. . . . It's just marketing. They want you to think that you NEED their product by redefining something natural. But even though you want it, you don't NEED it. Like Pepsi."

Instead of Pepsi, a better analogy would be a parachute (one I use all the time).

Of course lust is natural to sinful man. No one has to teach us to do it; it comes naturally. So does lying and stealing. It’s natural for us to be selfish and greedy, from the time we are toddlers.

Back to Pepsi and parachutes. The soda manufactures don’t really care if you want it or need it. They simply want (and, with today's economy) need you to buy it. That’s their motive. Profit. So where is the profit for God in a sinner coming to the Savior? There is no gain whatsoever. God doesn't need us at all. The Bible says He can make stones into people, if He wants to.

It’s evident that you don’t see your need of a Savior, and so the best favor I could do for you at the moment is point you towards the moral Law--the Ten Commandments. If you were standing on the edge of a plane 10,000 feet in the air and you didn’t see your need to put on a parachute, the best favor I could do for you would be to point out that gravity will unforgivingly pull you towards the center of the earth. If your brain is working, that knowledge should create fear, and that fear should drive you to put a parachute on, quickly.

In the same way, each of us stand on the edge of eternity. My job as a witness of Jesus Christ is to point out that the perfect and unforgiving Law of God will justly pull you to Hell. It must see that justice is done, and it's a Law that considers lust to be adultery, hatred to be murder. It will seek out sin against God right down to the wicked imagination of the sinful human heart. Nothing is hid from its searching eye.

So let your fear work for you and drive you to "put on the Lord Jesus Christ." I wouldn’t lie to you. This is more serious than a heart attack.

Another "So Ray" (you don't know the answer) Question

"So Ray I have a question for you. How did the 16000 or so kinds on Noah’s ark become the 1.4 species today?"

I wouldn’t let it worry you too much. It won’t be an issue on Judgment Day. Just say to yourself, "With God, nothing is impossible," or as the cynic says, "Goddidit." That solves the issue. It also solves the issue of how Jesus fed 5,000 people with five loaves and two fish, how He walked on water, calmed a storm by speaking to it, etc.

But if you do like to ask difficult questions, ask an atheist how the 1.4 species came from nothing. Despite his protests, that’s what he believes. When he says that he doesn’t know how everything began, ask him how is it that each of the 1.4 species evolved both male and female--how they reproduced before that time, and why females evolved anyway, if things were buzzing along with just males.

Press him on the issue. Make him think about what he believes. Then ask him if he can make a bird from nothing. When he says that nobody can, call him on his intellectual dishonesty in his belief that nothing made everything.

Believing all the strange things in the Bible is a breeze, compared to the fantasies the average atheist believes.

What Would Make me a Believer?

"Ray: This has been asked before, by myself and others, but once more for the record: What evidence would convince you to seriously reconsider your views on evolution?"

You are right about me being asked this before, so I will try and make this as clear as I can, so you and others will know where I stand and not have to waste your time asking again.

I think that the theory of evolution is the most unscientific, faith-based, fundamentally brainless idea that ever had the misfortune to come out of a human mind. To compare it to true science is a joke. There is nothing even slightly scientific about it.

When I read On The Origin of Species (every laborious page after page), it was like reading the ravings of a man who truly believed that the sun was square, that it came out at night, and that it was made of ice.

The closest thing to truth that Charles Darwin ever said, was when he admitted to someone that a cold shudder came over him, because he thought that he may have devoted his life to a fantasy. He certainly did. But that in itself isn’t amazing. What is amazing is that so many believe the unbelievable fantasy. For me to believe every impossible miracle and weird thing that happened in the Bible is completely effortless, compared to believing the wild speculations that the average evolution believer swallows without question. And what's the magic word that makes the fantasy come true? Time. Lots of it. I can hardly believe that anyone could believe what Darwinian evolutionists believe, and what’s more--no one could begin to convince me to believe what they believe; not in a million years.

Look at the intellectual embarrassment of where it leads. Richard Dawkins says we are related to bananas: "It is the plain truth that we are cousins of chimpanzees, somewhat more distant cousins of monkeys, more distant cousins still of aardvarks and manatees, yet more distant cousins of bananas and turnips." Let’s get this straight. Dawkins mocks me for believing that the banana was designed, and yet he believes it is one of his cousins!

The theory of evolution is the greatest joke on earth, and the professor is laughing all the way to the bank with his pockets packed with the money of naive believers, who swallow his banana (and turnip) crazy-talk.

Besides all this, I know God personally, experientially, and intimately--the One atheists don't believe exists. He is the One who said, "Let there be light," created every animal as male and female, caused them to bring forth after their own kind, and made man in His own image, not as some primordial bacteria. So, for me, the mystery of human origins is solved. Completely.

In case I haven’t made my point clear, let me try and summarize. You would have more chance of convincing me that the sun doesn’t shine, that water isn’t wet, and that God didn’t make little green apples, than you have of convincing me that the theory of evolution is true.

If the word "bigot" comes to mind to describe me, so be it. I have no choice in the matter. It’s either common sense or foolishness. I choose common sense, and if I'm wrong, I lose nothing at all. If you are wrong, you lose everything.

The Healing of Amputees Question

"Please do instruct me and tell me exactly why God does not heal amputees?"

The question comes with the presupposition that God has never healed even one amputee. The questioner assumes that he has all knowledge of all things that God has done since the creation of the world. He knows what has happened throughout history in Africa, India, China, Russia, and every country on earth, since the beginning of time. He claims "divine omniscience."

It would be more humble for him to say, "With the very limited knowledge that I have of the works of God throughout history, I believe that there has never been a medically substantiated case of Him healing someone whose limb (or any body part) had been amputated. I really don't know if He has or if He hasn't, but I still come to the conclusion that He doesn’t exist."

I have to admit though that if God did heal an amputee, it would be nothing short of a miracle. If He created a moving, living human arm, filled with incredibly complex and responding muscles, joined to an unbelievably complex hand, with a mass of blood vessels filled with life-giving blood, that connects to a pumping human heart, with an amazingly intricate nervous system that responds to the phenomenal human brain, it would be an "evident" miracle. It would be absolute and undeniable proof that He does indeed exist. Conceded.

Take a moment to look downwards, and slightly to your right. There (unless you are an amputee), you should see a living human arm. Bend it at the middle. Now slowly pull it up towards your eyes. Focus, and look at it. Think for a few moments about the amazing ability of Almighty God. Listen carefully to the God-given voice of "reason." You are not an an animal. You have the ability to reason. No animal can do this in a way that a human being can. Then, while still listening to that voice, slowly read this Bible verse:

"And one of them struck the servant of the high priest and cut off [amputated] his right ear. But Jesus answered and said, 'Permit even this.' And He touched his ear and healed him" (Luke 22:50-51).

If, for some reason, you are not hearing the voice of reason, may He do the same to you.

The Frog That Never Was

A Christian wrote: Atheist Challenge: 1. Put frog in blender, 2. Blend frog, 3. Put blender on kitchen table, 4. Wait for frog to hop back out. Should be a no brainer for evolution -- given that we know for sure everything required to make a living frog is present. Don't hold your breath!

An atheist responded. "That frog is dead. It took billions of years for complex life to evolve on earth. I suppose, theoretically, if I took the frog's remains and placed them on an alien world with conditions similar to early earth something might arise after another few billion years, but I can't say for sure."

The atheist obviously doesn’t know what atheistic evolution believes. It believes that in the beginning there was no frog "remains," and no "conditions" for life. There was no dried frog skin, frog bones, no blood, kidneys, liver, eyes, ears, nervous system, and heart. In the beginning there was no frog nor genes or DNA. No frog. There was nothing. Nothing at all. There was no air, no water, no sunlight. Nothing.

That’s what atheistic evolution believers believe. Now pull back and give such a thought some objective thought. Forget about the hypocrisy and established religion and those dumb old Christians with their unscientific beliefs and their 6,000 years old earth. Just think about how the atheist believes that for some reason nothing created everything--frogs (male and female), water (with a perfect consistency to maintain life), air (with its perfect mixture of gases to maintain life), sunlight (to maintain life), oxygen-giving trees, beautiful flowers, masses of birds, succulent fruits, the seasons, etc., etc., etc. There were no atoms, no molecules, no genes, no bacteria. There was nothing.

As if that's not insane enough, when an atheist wants to hold onto his belief that nothing caused all this to happened billions of years ago, he then predictably says, "Then who made God, if He was the initial Cause?" In his unthinking mind, his unbelievable belief then becomes rational because he refuses to accept the eternality of God.

An Important Question

"Dave B said...Regarding your version of The Origin of Species; you said on September 18th, 'It's now heading for 100 universities and 100,000 copies, and it will be the entire book (every jot and tittle). How wonderful that 100,000 students will get a complete copy of Origin of Species with a full color cover.' Reviewers on Amazon are claiming that your version is missing 4 chapters, an introduction, and a glossary. Ray, please explain."

Dave...Sure. The first printing of 30,000 was an abridged edition. It was abridged because it was too many pages (too expensive) for a giveaway. In the book, we explained that the removed chapters could be downloaded freely online at www.originextra.com

The second print of 175,000 (which has just come off the press) was the complete book--that's the one that will go to students. Nothing is missing from the original book. Not a dot. Thanks for asking. I appreciate it. Best wishes.

An Honest Atheist

Despite what many atheists have said about the brilliant mind of Steven J., he’s not good for the cause of evolution. He is way too honest. Recently, he let a really big cat out of the bag. "Carl" asked him the same question that I asked myself, about the age of "Ardi."

When I watched a documentary on the discovery of the famous fossil, I was amazed that they didn’t date the bones at 4.4 million years old. They instead dated the soil in which they were found. My immediate thought was, "How do they know that Ardi’s age was the same as what they perceive as the soil’s age, and how do we know that the dating system is accurate?"

Let’s say I died next week and I’m buried in soil that geologists say is 2.6 million years old. One hundred thousand years pass and new geologists dig up my bones. They want to know how old my bones are, but instead of testing them, they test the compacted now rock strata in which I was buried, and conclude that they are 2.6 million years old.

So Carl asked Steven J. "How do we know Ardi is 4.4 million years old? I tried looking up the details regarding Ardi's age of 4.4 million years and all I could find was that they looked at the volcanic layer above and below. This makes me skeptical because I know that in dating Lucy, they had to drive miles away from the site to even find anything they could measure, dating wise. Was the dating done at the site where Ardi was found? If not, or if we don't know, are we just taking their word for it?"

Then, thanks to honest-Steven, out comes the cat. He said, "Strictly speaking, you'd be taking geologists' word for it." And therein he revealed the blind unquestioning faith of the average believer in evolution

Goods News for New York

Atheists are making people thinking about God, again. How can I donate?

"BathTub said...Visit the URL on the poster perhaps? Not really pretending to be that dense are you? Mind you sometimes you definitely make me wonder."

I checked their website but there was no place to donate. So I called the organizers and left a message for John Rafferty the President of the Secular Humanist Society of New York. I said who I was, told him that I loved these signs that were reminding people about God. I told him to keep up the good work and that I hoped we could meet one day and have lunch.

Why the Eighth Day?

59 So it was, on the eighth day, that they came to circumcise the child; and they would have called him by the name of his father, Zacharias. 60 His mother answered and said, "No; he shall be called John."

The Bible is an amazing book. Over 2,000 times it claims divine inspiration with wording such as "Thus says the Lord." The godly delight in Scripture, but the skeptic reads the Bible without delight. He consumes the Word of God like a man (with serious psychological problems) eats fish. He pushes aside that which would benefit him, and instead swallows the bones. No wonder he chokes on almost every page.

But for those who love and trust God, the Bible is an encouraging source of sustenance. Take for instance the fact that John the Baptist was circumcised on the eighth day. The procedure (whether you think it barbaric or not) was done on that particular day for a reason. In Genesis 17:12, God specifically told Abraham to circumcise newborn males on the eighth day. Why did He choose the eighth day? Why not the seventh or the ninth?

In recent years scientists have discovered that vitamin K is responsible for the production prothrombin. If the vitamin is deficient there will be a prothrombin deficiency and hemorrhaging may occur. It has been discovered that only on the fifth through the seventh days of the newborn male’s life, that vitamin K is present in adequate quantities. Without it and prothrombin, the blood will not clot. It was Holt and McIntosh, in, Holt Pediatrics, who said that an infant has "peculiar susceptibility to bleeding between the second and fifth days of life.... Hemorrhages at this time, though often inconsequential, are sometimes extensive; they may produce serious damage to internal organs, especially to the brain, and cause death from shock and exsanguination" (1953, pp. 125-126).

Obviously, then, if vitamin K is not produced in sufficient quantities until days five through seven, it would be wise to postpone any surgery until some time after that. So why did God instruct Abraham to perform circumcision on day eight? It was because on the eighth day, the amount of prothrombin present is elevated above one-hundred percent of normal—and is the only day in the male’s life in which this will be the case under normal conditions. It is then that vitamin K and prothrombin levels are at their peak, and scientists didn't discover this until recent years.

To the skeptic, this isn’t the slightest indication that the Book he is reading is divinely inspired. Such a thought is pushed side in preference for more bones upon which he may choke. But to the godly, such a truth is no big deal. It’s just another tasty piece of information in his daily meal of the wonderful Word of God.

A Justified Cold Shudder

A famous geneticist once said: "Nothing in biology makes sense except in the light of evolution." I would like to drop one word, so that the quote is true. It should read, "Nothing in biology makes sense in the light of evolution." Explain to me how 1.4 million species managed to evolve into maturity together, in our lifetime. Nothing we have in creation is half-evolved. The cow has a working udder to make drinkable milk. The bee has working apparatus to make edible honey. We don’t find a half evolved cow or bee.

None of the 1.4 million species on the earth has half an eye. All have the necessary functioning equipment, from the brain, to the teeth, to the eye, to limbs, to reproductive necessities. Everything that we see in creation is in full working order--from the sun, to the mixture of the air, to the seasons, to fruit trees and vegetables, to the animal kingdom--from the tiny ant right up to the massive elephant.

But, not only do we see this mature completion in creation, we see it displayed in the fossil record. It reveals that each animal was complete. Historical and present creation stand as a stark testimony to the folly of Darwinian evolution.

Darwin was certainly on to something when he said, "Often a cold shudder has run through me, and I have asked myself whether I may have not devoted myself to a fantasy."[1]

Someone wrote and said, "There are more specimens of 'Ardi' (the newly described Ardipithecus ramidus) than there are of Tyrannosaurus . . . We and modern chimpanzees shared a common ancestor millions of years ago..." But, that’s another evolutionary "Oops!" if you believe the learned scientists on the Discovery Channel. In a recent two-hour documentary about "Ardi," they said, "Ever since Darwin, we have bought into the idea that humans evolved from ancient chimp-like creatures. That’s because modern chimps seemed to share a lot of anatomy and modern behavior with humans. So the idea that we evolved from something like chimps seemed to make sense. But now, the discovery of Ardipithecus shows that this idea is totally and completely wrong."[2] Did you hear what they said? This idea that we evolved from ancient chimp-like creatures is totally and completely wrong.

I am aware that it is the learning process of evolutionary "science" to continually discover itself to be wrong. So there can never be a time when believers can claim they have the truth. This is just as well, because each believed hypothesis, like the fashions of a teenager, is in time discarded in favor of the new.

Big Words from Little Woody

"If I get hit by a bus when I go to buy some more cigarettes and I stand face to face with God I'll tell him exactly what I think of him. As Woody Allen said, ‘God has some explaining to do.'"

Most of us won't die under the wheels of a bus. We tend to see them coming. What we don’t see coming is an aneurysm in our sleep, or being rear-ended by a truck, or liver cancer or a massive heart-attack. Death has a way of sneaking up on us, but one thing is sure, it will come.

When the atheist stands before God, it will be a waste of time telling Him what he thinks of Him. God already knows what we think. He sees the thought-life and hears every word spoken. He knows the enmity that human beings have towards Him, and He has even gone to the trouble of telling us exactly why we feel enmity towards Him.

"Enmity" is a state of hostility. Here’s the explanation from Romans 8:7, from the Amplified Bible. This version of the Scriptures (as the name suggests, amplifies the English, by going back to each Greek word and opening up its meaning):

"[That is] because the mind of the flesh [with its carnal thoughts and purposes] is hostile to God, for it does not submit itself to God's Law; indeed it cannot."

Our godless thought-process is called the "mind of the flesh." The "flesh" is the biblical way of expressing the fact that we get pleasure out of sin. The flesh loves gluttony, pornography, violence, adultery, sexual fantasies, etc. We delight in that which is wrong. If you disagree, then explain why it is that almost every movie, television program, magazine, and newspaper is filled with stories of sex and violence? Of course we love these things, and it’s the love of them that makes us despise the very thought of God and His moral Law. We are like criminals who despise the police, because they uphold civil law.

Woody Allen may be big with words, but he is little on delivery. He is a sad man who is fearful of dying. And that fear of death will plague him until he takes the time to listen to the explanation that God has already given us in His Word.

Allen once lamented, "I don't want to achieve immortality through my work . . . I want to achieve it through not dying." The offer of not dying is there, and we ignore it at our own peril. Listen to the warning of Scripture: "How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation..." (Hebrews 2:3).

By the way; Woody Allen is my height.

Guest Blogger

Look around the room you are in. Name anything that wasn’t made or designed. Unless you’re in the kitchen you’d be hard-pressed to argue that everything in the room wasn’t made or designed by someone (and even then only an atheist could put fruit or veggies on the list).

Yet atheists believe the whole world and everything in it, fell into place through random chance and was created by nobody. Yet we’re not just struggling life forms on a planet that barely has the necessities for life to exist. We have an abundance of natural resources, water, oxygen, countless varieties of food, happiness, love, the ability to continue our race through procreation. And that was just a short list. Our life is good, if not great, compared to what it could have evolved into. And it is believed that all this, evolved before (or as) we had a need for it.

So why didn’t the things in the room you are in (chairs, desks, pens, TV and even planes and cars) evolve too? After all, these items are used by nearly even human on the planet and some would say they are a necessity in life. They are certainly less complex than the items mentioned in the first list above. Is it not a fair question to ask of evolution and Mother Nature as to why we had to give up waiting and create them ourselves? DJC

Wildest Dreams or Worst Nightmares?

54 He has helped His servant Israel, in remembrance of His mercy, 55 As He spoke to our fathers, To Abraham and to his seed forever. And Mary remained with her about three months, and returned to her house.

If you want proof of the faithfulness of God, study His dealings with Israel. He took one small nation, and simply because of His mercy made them His chosen people. This is what He said to them:

"For you are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth. The Lord did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any other people, for you were the least of all peoples; but because the Lord loves you, and because He would keep the oath which He swore to your fathers, the Lord has brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you from the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt." (Deuteronomy 7:6-8)

He warned them that if they obeyed Him He would bless them beyond their wildest dreams, and if they turned against them He would chasten them beyond their worst nightmares. As we follow their history, we can watch in awe as God faithfully fulfills His promises. When they obeyed Him, He blessed them with long life, health, and with incredible prosperity (see Israel under Solomon). When they disobeyed Him by forsaking His Law, they predictably denied Him, gave themselves to sin and came under His severe wrath. He sent prophets to warn them and so often they refused to listen (see 2 Kings 17:7-17 and 2 Chronicles 36:15, 16).

God warned Israel that because of their rebellion they would scattered among the nations where they would be horribly treated, then He would bring them back to their own land. Other nations such as the Canaanites, Perizzites, Jebusites, Moabites, Edomites, or Ammonites lost their identities. But Israel persisted as a people because God established His covenant with her. Wherever the Jews went throughout the many centuries of history, despite not having a homeland, they kept their identity until God drew them back to their homeland in 1948. The purposes of God cannot and will not fail.

The reason God chose Israel was to fulfill His divine purpose that He "spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his seed forever." Here’s the promise to Abraham: "In you shall all families of the earth be blessed" (Genesis 12:3). The very first verse of the New Testament is the beginning of the fulfillment of this promise. God became a Man in the person of Jesus of Nazareth for the purpose of destroying our greatest enemy--death itself. And that one Man's death and resurrection gave us access to the wellspring of eternal life: "And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely."

Back to Doctor Luke

51 He has shown strength with His arm; He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. 52 He has put down the mighty from their thrones, and exalted the lowly. 53 He has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich He has sent away empty.

Where is God? Why doesn’t He show Himself? He has. Through creation, from the smallest atom to the universe there is order, and order speaks to a sane mind of a Creator who created that order. So we are without excuse (see Romans 1:20-22). But God has shown Himself in a more subtle way than through creation. He has shown the strength of His arm through the amazing gospel.

I often tell the story of a club in which I had about 100 kids, at the conclusion of which they lined up for a piece of candy. As I looked at them fighting for position, I noticed that the quiet, smaller and sickly kids had been pushed to the back, and the brats were at the front. So I took great delight in turning the line around and going to the quiet, smaller and sickly kids first, much to the disgust of the brats who were now at the back.

That is precisely what God has done with the gift of everlasting life. The poor heard Jesus gladly. The Gospel is for the lowly and the humble, while those proud and arrogant brats who profess themselves to be wise are more than pushed to the back of the line. They are tossed out of the building. They miss out on the promise of life and instead will reap the fruit of their own conceit. They are scattered in the imagination of their proud hearts, and put down from their imaginary thrones.

How has God done this incredible thing? Simply by using "foolish things to confound the wise." See 1 Corinthians chapters one and two for details. He made the door on salvation so low, only those who humble themselves can enter, and in doing so He filled the hungry with good things, and the rich He sent away empty.

Is your trust in your money? Do you consider yourself wise? Are you a proud person? Then your misguided trust and your conceit will keep you from finding what the Scriptures call "treasure in earthen vessels." Everything that is of value in this life has to be searched out. Gold, silver, diamonds, etc., don’t fall from the sky. You have to dig for them, and just as God has hidden these things in the earth, so He has hidden Himself from humanity, and says, "And you shall seek me, and find me, when you shall search for me with all your heart" (Jeremiah 29:13). And why should you search for God? Because He is the source of life itself, and without Him you will lose yours. It’s just a matter of time . . . no matter what you believe.

For Those Who Keep Saying I don't Know What I am Talking About...

"Transitional fossils (popularly termed missing links) are the fossilized remains of intermediary forms of life that illustrate an evolutionary transition."

"An organism with features that it holds in common with organisms presumed to be its ancestor and descendant but that neither of these hold in common."

"Evolution predicts that there should be a great many fossils of transitional forms, intermediate between ancestors and descendents."

"A transitional form is a living or fossilized organism that is believed to be an evolutionary link between two distinct groups (also referred to as intermediates or missing links)."

"A transitional form is a fossil or living organism that is intermediate between two other organism in an evolutionary sequence. A transitional form that has not yet been found is colloquially called a 'missing link'."

To say "We are all transitional forms" is to move the goalposts, because you can't win the game. You redefine "transitional forms" because you have no evidence upon which you so blindly place your faith. Judgment Day will reveal the tragedy of this misplaced trust. Please, set aside your presuppositions, and listen to the claims of the gospel. Your eternity is at stake.

Am I Missing Something? Sure Are...

"Now as a trained archaeologist, let me take you to task for your discrepancies. Firstly, let us tackle the issue of fossilization . . . You might want to note that not all things fossilize. The conditions that the remains are buried in need to be perfect in order to ensure that they survive. It is quite clear to both of us that just leaving out a dead body causes a massive stink and the soft parts decay. After a while, we are left with the bones. But these don't always remain do they Ray? Thank you, Largenton."

"The Department of Paleobiology at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History is one of the leading centers for paleontological research in the world…The world-class collections include 40 million to 50 million fossil plants, animals and geologic specimens. Also included in the collections are more than 1,500 cataloged specimens of dinosaurs."[1]

So let me understand this. The Smithsonian has millions of fossils, but they have no undisputed transitional forms that clearly prove Darwin was right. They don’t exist. Millions of fossils survived because their conditions were suitable, but transitional forms didn’t survive because their conditions weren’t conducive. Millions of others did, but they didn’t. Why is that? I believe it’s because they didn’t exist in the first place. Darwin was onto something when he said, "Often a cold shudder has run through me, and I have asked myself whether I may have not devoted myself to a fantasy."[2].

Those Pesky Imperfections...

If Darwin’s theory was true, there should be buried within the soil, the skeletons of millions of animals changing from one species ("kind") into another. But Darwin admitted that they didn’t exist. There were none at all in the geological formation. He asks, "Why then is not every geological formation and every stratum full of such intermediate links? Geology assuredly does not reveal any such finely graduated organic chain; and this, perhaps, is the most obvious and gravest objection which can be urged against my theory. The explanation lies, as I believe, in the extreme imperfection of the geological record."

Unbelievably, instead of questioning his theory, he blames geological record! Yet he is forced to admit, "So that the number of intermediate and transitional links, between all living and extinct species, must have been inconceivably great." If Charles Darwin was right, the amount of skeletal remains must have been inconceivably great, and yet in the same passage he again admits to "not finding fossil remains of such infinitely numerous connecting links." They were infinitely numerous (millions upon millions) and they have all disappeared. All of them.

And after 150 years of desperate searching, they still can’t find any.

The Eternal Destiny of the Jew

"I just wanted to reiterate that it's important to remember that ALL 6 MILLION of Hitlers Jewish victims are DEFINITELY in hell according to Christian Theology." Ryan Anderson

To say that all six million Jews who died in the holocaust are in Hell, is a twisted interpretation of Christian theology. I am a Jew, and I became a Christian. Jesus was Jewish. The disciples were Jewish. The first 8,000 converts were Jewish. Christianity went "to the Jew first." It came through the Jews, from the land of the Jews, to the Jews. Any Jew who believes the Scriptures will come to Christ. Those who don’t, wont.

Why then would anyone say that all Jews who died at the hands of Nazis are in Hell? Presumable it's because they are offended that Jesus spoke of the exclusive nature of salvation. He said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father but by me" (John 14:6). That is exclusive, but that is what the Jewish disciples preached to their Jewish hearers: "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12).

This is the teaching of the Jew who (under the inspiration of the God of the Jews), wrote, "Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son" (2 John 1:9). When God spoke to the Jews in their Scriptures, He promised to give them "one way":

"Behold, I will gather them out of all countries, whither I have driven them in my anger, and in my fury, and in great wrath; and I will bring them again unto this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God: and I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them: and I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me."

So if you are offended that there is only one way to God, your argument is with Him.

The moral Law (which was given to the Jews) leaves each of us guilty before God, and any attempt on our part to offer Him good works through religious works (praying, fasting, doing good, etc.), are not "good works" at all, but attempts to bribe the Judge. Scripture teaches that those who offer religious works are motivated by a guilty conscience (see Hebrews 10:22), and we are also warned that God will not be bribed (see Proverbs 15:8). The only way for us to be saved from Hell (our just punishment under God's Law) is if the Judge extends mercy. That’s what happened at the cross. God in Christ was paying our fine, so that our case could legally be dismissed. When anyone repents and trusts the God-given Savior, they receive forgiveness of sins, and the gift of everlasting life (See Romans 6:23).

Salvation from death is exclusive to Christ, but open to all (see Acts 2:21). It is open to the Jew and the Gentile, to those who are black or white, to the wise and to the fool. Many atheists have become Christians, but before they could do so they had to make one small change (see Hebrews 11:6). It is easier for a needle to go through the eye of a camel, than for an atheist to enter the Kingdom of God. Psalm 10:4 tells us why:

"The wicked in his proud countenance does not seek God; God is in none of his thoughts."

That was true in my life. But I guess it's not true for the atheists who camp on this site. They think about God all the time...and how He doesn't exist. Funny that.

Archeology and the Banana

Human beings are pretty gullible. We tend to believe what we are told, especially if we hear it again and again. Take for instance the shape of the first banana. Was it similar to the shape of a modern banana, or was it more like the shape of a potato, as seen in this picture of a modern wild banana?

Archaeological evidence suggests that the banana goes back as far as 8,000 years. So what was its shape? Was it short and fat, like a potato, or was it more like the shape of the modern banana?

The truth is, we don’t know, because we don’t have 8,000 year-old pictures. But we can get a clue with a little study. We know that the color was different: "These historical bananas were not the sweet yellow banana we know today, but the red and green cooking variety (see below pictures), now usually referred to as plantains to distinguish them from the sweet type."

Notice the shape of these "historical bananas." They are much closer to the shape of modern bananas rather than a potato shape. We can get another clue as to the shape of the original banana by looking at the origin of the word "banana." It comes from the name banan, which is Arabic for "finger."

So when the anonymous producer of "the famous – the Atheist’s Nightmare!" video chose a picture of the original banana to make his point, did he choose one that looked like the "historical" bananas and the shape of a human finger? Of course not. He instead picked a picture of the modern wild banana. And then he cleverly morphed the modern wild banana into the shape of a modern banana...and the gullible believed him.

In trying to make me look like a fool, Mr. Anonymous gave me an international platform for my message. I hope that one day he will contact me so that I can buy him lunch and thank him personally. Perhaps we will split a banana-split.

The Skeptic's Game

"According to the Christian Model, Hitler, as far as anyone knows, could very well be in Heaven right now, enjoying the fruits of his last minute redemption."

There’s a game that’s often played by skeptics. They create hypothetical scenarios so that they can (in their own minds) justify rejection of the gospel.

A drug addict is dying because of a disease that is related to his addiction. But when a faithful doctor takes the time to point out the evident symptoms that are all over the addict's flesh, he responds by saying that the hideous spots are normal, and that all his friends have them.

The doctor pleads with him to listen, and says that a large drug company has developed a cure for the fatal disease. To which the addict says, "What if an elephant fell from the sky and swallowed it before I could get to it? Huh doc. Huh! What about that? You and your stupid pill! I don’t believe the drug company even exists. You idiot. Rather than talk about this so-called disease and your brainless drug company, I want to talk about the age of this medical building."

Why would he acts in such a way? The answer is obvious. He loves his addiction. That’s why he has disdain for the faithful doctor, and the drug company he represents:

"And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed"(John 3:19-20).

The Old Testament and Hell

"Nowhere in the Old Testament is there any hint of eternal punishment after death. There are occasional hints of an afterlife for the righteous, but none of an afterlife, in Hell or elsewhere, for the wicked. The New Testament, of course, has many mentions of post-death punishment, another change in the account of how God treats His creatures." Steven J.

Skeptics have argued that any Old Testament reference to the word "hell" simply refers to the grave, or to a burning trash heap outside of Jerusalem. This is the scholarly way they put it: "Hell is always translated from the Hebrew word Sheol (which is used 65 times in the Old Testament) and means simply 'the world of the dead.' There is no hint of a place of fire. Sheol is translated as 'grave' 31 times, 'hell' 31 times, and 'pit' 3 times."

Psalm 11:6 - Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.

Psalm 21:9 - You shall make them as a fiery oven in the time of your anger: the Lord shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them.

Psalm 140:10 - Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again.

Deuteronomy 32:22 - For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.

Psalm 9:17 - The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

Psalm 55:15 - Let death seize upon them, and let them go down quick into hell: for wickedness is in their dwellings, and among them.

Psalm 139:8 - If I ascend up into heaven, you are there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, you are there.

Proverbs 5:5 - Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell.

Proverbs 7:27- Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.

Proverbs 9:18 - But he knows not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell.

Proverbs 15:11 - Hell and destruction are before the Lord: how much more then the hearts of the children of men?

Proverbs 15:24 - The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.

Proverbs 23:14 - You shall beat him with the rod, and shall deliver his soul from hell.

Proverbs 27:20 - Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied.

Daniel 12:2 - And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, some to shame and everlasting contempt.

Isaiah 14:9 - Hell from beneath is moved for you to meet you at your coming: it stirs up the dead for you, even all the chief ones of the earth; it has raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.

Isaiah 14:15 - Yet you shall be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

Ezekiel 31:16-17 -- I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him down to hell with them that descend into the pit: and all the trees of Eden, the choice and best of Lebanon, all that drink water, shall be comforted in the nether parts of the earth. They also went down into hell with him unto them that be slain with the sword; and they that were his arm, that dwelt under his shadow in the midst of the heathen.

Ezekiel 32:21 - The strong among the mighty shall speak to him out of the midst of hell with them that help him: they are gone down, they lie uncircumcised, slain by the sword.

Amos 9:2 - Though they dig into hell, thence shall my hand take them; though they climb up to heaven, thence will I bring them down:

Habakkuk 2:5 - Yea also, because he transgresses by wine, he is a proud man, neither keeps at home, who enlarges his desire as hell, and is as death, and cannot be satisfied, but gathers unto him all nations, and heaps unto him all people…

The New Testament made a reference to those who dilute the Word of God by saying "which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures" (2 Peter 3:16). So you have some choices to make. You can say that God doesn’t exist, which (in the light of creation) is unspeakably foolish. You can say that God exists, but that He doesn’t care about justice, which is idolatry (that would mean that Hitler’s punishment for the slaughter of six million Jews was to simply die, and know nothing). Then again, you can believe the soothing words of those who twist Scripture and say that Hell doesn’t exist. Or you can take warning from the Bible that God will see that ultimate Justice is ultimately done, repent and trust the Savior, who warned: "Wherefore if your hand or your foot offend you, cut them off, and cast them from you: it is better for you to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire. And if your eye offend you, pluck it out, and cast it from you: it is better for you to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire" (Matthew 18:8-9, New Testament).

A reply from Steven J.
"Steven J. said... Ray, looking over those verses, I find that most of them make perfect, obvious sense if you render sheol as 'the grave' rather than 'Hell.' ... I stand by my contention that post-death punishment is a concept absent from most of the Old Testament."

Steven J....there are many words you can substitute for the word "Hell" if you want to, and each verse still makes perfect sense. However, all you are doing is twisting Scripture "to your own destruction" and to the destruction to those who believe you.

I notice that you backed down by using the word "most" twice. Why not rather apologize and say that you were wrong, humbling though it is? This is such an important issue. Think of the implications...

God and Genocide

The God of the Old Testament ordered genocide. He was, as Richard Dawkins so rightly stated "a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully."

As justification for God’s merciless judgment against the Canaanites, we are told by Bible scholars that they were a morally corrupt people. The religion of the Canaanites was a fertility cult. They turned their women into temple prostitutes, and they sacrificed their children by fire in the white-hot arms of their pagan gods.

To get this into perspective we have to look at our own nation in regard to pornography, homosexuality, adultery, fornication, violence, and particularly abortion. We have murdered more than 50 million innocent babies in the womb! How bad does a nation have to get for God Himself to order the slaughter of every man, woman and child? The question arises as to why God didn’t intervene when Hitler’s evil regime was in power, and kill off the German nation before it slaughtered millions of innocent people across the world? But He did intervene with the Canaanites, so how can we begin to understand this specific and harsh judgment?

The first key is to realize that the God of the New Testament is the same as He was in the Old Testament. He never changes. In the New Testament we are told to fear Him because He has the power to kill the body and cast the soul into Hell, and the New Testament has enough judgments in it to make us fear Him. Take for one example His fearful judgments against humanity in the Book of Revelation.

The reason we should fear God is because He is to be feared. He is still the same today as He was in the New Testament, and He will be the same on Judgment Day. He’s not going to compromise justice simply because sinful man points a judgmental holier-than-thou finger at Him. We have more chance of changing the inner core temperature of the sun because we don’t like the fact that it’s hot.

However, those who insist on standing in judgment over God do so because they are making two serious mistakes: 1. They haven’t seen God as He is, and, 2. They haven’t seen themselves as they are.

This is what God said to wicked humanity when they continued to do evil: "These things you have done and I kept silent; you thought I was once entirely like you . . . " (Psalm 50:21 (Amplified Bible, italics added).

Humanity’s mistake is that we think that God is something like us. We are made in the "image" of God, in that we are moral beings, but God is nothing like us. One way to illustrate the difference is to consider the subject of crime. If a man threatens to beat his dog, there’s no consequence for his threat. If he threatens to beat up a police officer, he will appear before a judge for threatening an officer of the law. However, if he threatens the President of the United States, he will find himself in prison for a long time. It is the same crime (of making a threat), but the penalty increases because of the importance of the one against whom the threat is made.

When any of us commit a sin, we commit a crime against Almighty God, and that greatly increases the penalty. When Jesus spoke about where sin originates, He said, "For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies" (Matthew 15:19). Ask the world if they think those sins are serious, and most will say that there’s nothing wrong with evil thoughts, fornication, blasphemy and lying. They will say things like "Who hasn’t told white lies, or taken something small that belongs to someone else? Everybody does it." Those sins aren’t seen as being too serious because they are seen from the low moral standards of a human point of view.

But God is absolute and perfect holiness, and He sees each of those crimes as being so serious, that they demand the death penalty and damnation in Hell. Without the help of the Holy Spirit to give us understanding, we will always see these sins as trivial, but on the Day of Judgment when we stand in the presence of a Holy Creator, we will see how dreadfully serious they are. Jesus spoke of sin as being so deadly, that if our eye causes us to as much as lust, we should pluck it out and cast it from us. Obviously He was speaking metaphorically to show us how gravely serious sin is in the sight of God. With that in mind, carefully read what Scripture says about this issue:

"If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having two hands, to go to hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched— where 'Their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.' And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame, rather than having two feet, to be cast into hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched— where 'Their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.' And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire—where 'Their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.'" (Mark 9:43-48, NKJV).

So if God applied His high moral standard to humanity right now, His perfect Law would seize upon every one of us, instantly take us to Hell, and perfect justice would be done.

If Hitler had commanded Joshua to kill every Canaanite he would have been guilty of the crime of genocide, because Hitler was a sinful man who had a wicked agenda. But God is morally faultless and therefore all of His judgments are righteous and true altogether.

None of us knows why God judged the Canaanites. Perhaps they were a nation of potential "Hitlers" and God killed them off before they were able to become a great power. There is nothing wrong with asking why God judged them, but there is something very wrong in questioning His moral character, especially when we do so as very guilty sinners. For me, it’s not a big issue because there are some things I will never know, this side of eternity: "O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!" (Romans 11:33, italics added). The Book of Isaiah says a similar thing: "'For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,’ declares the Lord. 'As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." (Isaiah 55:8-9).

Skeptics often then ask that if God was to tell me to kill people, would I do it? Of course not. Those who do hear voices should seek professional help.

The Bible says, "God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds . . ." (Hebrews 1:1-2). We speak to God through prayer, and He speaks to us specifically through the teachings of His Son, which are laid out in Scripture.

Here then is how we should treat other people: "But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you. To him who strikes you on the one cheek, offer the other also. And from him who takes away your cloak, do not withhold your tunic either. Give to everyone who asks of you. And from him who takes away your goods do not ask them back" (Luke 26:27-30).

We are horrified at the killing of innocent men, women, and children because we intuitively know that it’s morally wrong. However, the atheist can’t say that anything is morally wrong, because he doesn’t believe in moral absolutes. His morality is predicted by what society dictates is right from wrong. So if a society deemed it legal to exterminate Jews, then it becomes morally okay? It must, if it is mob rule that dictates ethics.

Our knowledge of what is right and wrong must trace itself back to God and to His moral Law, and the reason we are horrified at the thought of genocide, is because we are made in His image. My dog couldn’t care less about genocide. Neither could my chickens. In fact, none of the animal kingdom have the inbuilt knowledge of morality to a point where they set up court systems, and administer justice to their fellow creatures. Only man does that.

So make sure that you don’t be so foolish as to reject God’s gift of eternal life, just because you think that He is morally corrupt and that you are righteous. On Judgment Day you will discover that God who is just in His judgments, and that you, like the rest of us, are desperately wicked. On that Day, God will be the judge and you will be the criminal. That is, if you choose to stay in your sins.

The Brilliant Charles Darwin

When we give away 170,000 copies of Origin of Species to university students in November, I want every one of the 170,000 students to make sure they don’t stop at the Introduction. I want them to thoroughly read Origin of Species.

When I read the book I was impressed with the brilliance of Charles Darwin. If he was alive today I am sure that he would quickly rise to the top of Disney’s imagineers, or earn big bucks as a Hollywood screenwriter for science fiction movies.

Among other things, Darwin noted that black bears swam for hours with their mouths open, catching insects in the water. He believed that if they kept their mouths open all day, every day (for a long period of time), that they would acquire "larger and larger mouths, until a creature was produced as monstrous as a whale."

Students can read his own explanation as to why there is no empirical evidence for his theory--that all "intermediate varieties" have disappeared--just like the Mormon’s golden plates that the angel Moroni supposedly gave to Joseph Smith. There’s one big difference though between the golden plates and the intermediate varieties. The Mormon’s say that only two golden plates are missing. Darwin says that millions of fossils (what he referred to as "innumerable") are missing. After 150 years of searching, the missing links are still missing.

Students can read about how the giraffe’s tail evolved because it needed it to swish away flies. Think of how many millions of years the poor animal had to put up with those pesky flies before the tail evolved so that it could do its work. They can also read how Darwin wondered if the vulture became bald (over millions of years) because it kept putting its head into rotting meat. But he advised caution because "the head of the clean-feeding turkey is also naked." Students may also notice that millions of men are bald, and hopefully doubt that it’s because their ancestors rubbed their foreheads into rotting meat.

In Darwin’s book, nothing is as God created it. God didn’t create the giraffe with a tail to swish away flies. Neither did He create the vulture or turkey with a bald head. Instead, all of creation miraculously evolved--from the bear’s mouths to the giraffe’s tail, and for some reason it has all reached the point of maturity during our lifetime, and (after millions of years of redundancy) now functions as it was intended. Move over J. R. R. Tolkien, Arthur C. Clark and J. K. Rowling. These three combined don’t hold a candle to Charles Darwin. Most of their fans know their writings were fantasy. Darwin’s faithful followers don’t.

There’s a lot of anger in the atheist community about our Origin of Species giveaway. Many have resorted to asking how I would like it if Richard Dawkins published a Bible and put his own Introduction in the front. How would I like it? I would be delighted if he would go to such trouble and expense. I want to get the Scriptures into the hands of every man, woman and child on this earth, and if he would help reach that goal I would be overjoyed.

If students were given the Richard Dawkin’s Bible and they read where he speaks of God as being "a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully," they could check the Bible for themselves to see if it is true. Or when they are told that the Scriptures teach that the sun goes around the earth, or that the earth is flat, they can instantly check for themselves, because Richard Dawkins gave them a Bible.

I’m not so insecure in my belief system that I feel threatened by such a thought. Not in the slightest. Go for it professor. I will help you give them out.

A thinking Atheist

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNLvXllvvsA&feature=fvw

It's hard to keep up with all the false accusations, but here's one:

I said that around 200,000 people die each year in the U.S. because of medicial mistakes. Dimensio wrote: "Given that Mr. Comfort has lied regarding the mortality rate caused by medical professional error -- as the actual statistic is 80,000 fewer deaths than Mr. Comfort claims -- why would you expect Mr. Comfort to provide an honest statement of the data that you have requested?"

"In Hospital Deaths from Medical Errors at 195,000 per Year USA." Source: http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/11856.php#

Back to Doctor Luke

46And Mary said: "My soul magnifies the Lord, 47 And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior. 48 For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant; For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed. 49 For He who is mighty has done great things for me, And holy is His name. 50 And His mercy is on those who fear Him from generation to generation."

I have to smile when someone says that they don’t believe in the soul. They somehow think that the "soul" is a religious phrase. Yet your soul isn’t something you have. It’s what you are. You are a soul. You have a body, but you are your soul. It’s nothing at all to do with religion. Your soul is your life. It's your personality--the real you, and the real you lives in a fearfully and wonderfully made body.

However, your "spirit" is a completely different thing. Mary said that her soul magnified the Lord. She honored God and gave Him heartfelt praise. You "magnify" someone when you honor and praise them. You build them up. Of course God doesn’t need us to give Him honor. His essence shines above the brightness of the sun. Still, in this case one humble human being magnified the Lord, and her "spirit" rejoiced in God her Savior.

You are made up of three parts--body, soul, and spirit. Your body is the machine in which your soul lives. The soul is your self conscious part of you--your emotions and your will. But your spirit is the God conscious part of you, and the Bible says that until we are born of the Spirit (see John 3:1-5), your spirit is "dead in trespasses and sins," and you are therefore not conscious of God's presence. You are forever in the presence of God, and you are not aware of it. That certainly was my testimony. For 22 years I didn't have a clue that I was always in the presence of the omnipresent God.

How true are Mary’s words. All generations do call her blessed. Every Christmas she is honored as the one who bore the Savior of the world. Mary was a sinner. She desperately needed a Savior, and so are we sinners, who need the One who can save us from death and Hell. Do you know that He has done "great things" for you? Do you fear Him? You will never partake in the mercy of God until you fear God. You will cling to those darling sins until His eternal justice gives you what you deserve: "But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has power to cast into hell; yes, I say to you, fear Him!" (Luke 12:5).

Hot Evolution News!

"Reports of the assembly of the 'Ardi' fossil specimen are still relatively new. It is likely that neither Mr. Comfort nor any other creationist has yet been able to dedicate time required to adequately fully dishonestly misrepresent the findings, or even to dishonestly mine quotes from articles relating to the findings. However, given the skill at which creationists distort, and even outright fabricate, claims, I would anticipate a response either from Mr. Comfort or from one of his close associates that wholly misrepresents and lies about the 'Ardi' fossil specimen in less than one week." Evolution is so lacking in hard evidence, scientists have had to resurrect Ardi, after having her bones on hand for 15 years. She’s another potential missing link, and of course if you are one of the faithful, you will believe what they are saying about her with all your heart.

They say Ardi is 4.4 million years old and you believe them. I don’t have that sort of faith. I need hard evidence, and I have it in Christianity. I know where we came from (on the highest Authority), I know why we are here and I know where I am going after death.

No one needs to misrepresent the findings of these learned Berkeley folks. No one needs to because they don’t have any empirical evidence. It’s a "faith" matter, and it’s hard to argue with the sort of devotion that evolutionists have. Besides, I have more important things to do.

"Six months ago, we would have said our common ancestor looked something like a chimp," said Tim White of the University of California at Berkeley, a senior researcher on the project. "Now all that has changed." Sure has. And it will change again, and again, and again. I know, "that's what real science does."

For those who are interested, the "Origin of Species into schools giveaway" issue was on "The View" today. CNN called on Tuesday. It’s getting major media publicity and we still have a couple of months to go.

We ordered 175,000 books yesterday, and already 140,000 of those are ear-marked. Just think, 175,000 university students are going to see what evidence there is for both sides of the issue and get to make up their own minds. This is still America.
