Hover over Romans 1:20-22 for proof of God's existence, and over Matthew 5:27-28 for Judgment Day’s perfect standard. Then hover over John 3:16-18 for what God did, and over Acts 17:30-31 for what to do.

More Boring Parachute Stuff

"Jesus said if you lust, you have already committed adultery. I don't mind saying that Jesus was dead wrong about this. . . . It's just marketing. They want you to think that you NEED their product by redefining something natural. But even though you want it, you don't NEED it. Like Pepsi."

Instead of Pepsi, a better analogy would be a parachute (one I use all the time).

Of course lust is natural to sinful man. No one has to teach us to do it; it comes naturally. So does lying and stealing. It’s natural for us to be selfish and greedy, from the time we are toddlers.

Back to Pepsi and parachutes. The soda manufactures don’t really care if you want it or need it. They simply want (and, with today's economy) need you to buy it. That’s their motive. Profit. So where is the profit for God in a sinner coming to the Savior? There is no gain whatsoever. God doesn't need us at all. The Bible says He can make stones into people, if He wants to.

It’s evident that you don’t see your need of a Savior, and so the best favor I could do for you at the moment is point you towards the moral Law--the Ten Commandments. If you were standing on the edge of a plane 10,000 feet in the air and you didn’t see your need to put on a parachute, the best favor I could do for you would be to point out that gravity will unforgivingly pull you towards the center of the earth. If your brain is working, that knowledge should create fear, and that fear should drive you to put a parachute on, quickly.

In the same way, each of us stand on the edge of eternity. My job as a witness of Jesus Christ is to point out that the perfect and unforgiving Law of God will justly pull you to Hell. It must see that justice is done, and it's a Law that considers lust to be adultery, hatred to be murder. It will seek out sin against God right down to the wicked imagination of the sinful human heart. Nothing is hid from its searching eye.

So let your fear work for you and drive you to "put on the Lord Jesus Christ." I wouldn’t lie to you. This is more serious than a heart attack.
