Have you ever read about the Church in the Book of Acts, and deliberately compared it to today’s church and its agenda? There is a huge disparity. When the Holy Spirit was given, they didn’t stay for a further time of worship in the Upper Room--they immediately preached the Gospel to the unsaved, as they had been told to (Mark 16:15, etc). Every corner they turned, they reached out to the lost. Perhaps the difference between the modern church and the early Church is that they were “eternity-minded.” That's what happens when someone comes to true repentance and faith in Jesus. He says "Not my will, but Yours be done." The modern church lives for the present. It is concerned with itself and what it can get from God. You just have to watch Christian TV to see that. It is in essence saying, "Not Your will, but mine be done." So few are horrified at the fate of the lost. May God awaken the millions who sleep in such a spurious state within the Church.
