The English language is very inadequate. If I say that I “love” another man, it has perverted overtones. That’s because there’s only one word for love in the English language. Not so in the Greek and Hebrew (the languages of the Bible). I have been frustrated as to how to describe the mentality of an atheist. I could say that they are “mentally bankrupt,” but that sounds cruel and degenerates to abuse. Those English words are very limited in their description. However, the Hebrew does a better job. The transliteration of the word used the describe the atheist, used in Psalm 14:1 is “nabal” (pronounced “naw-bawl”). It means “stupid; wicked (especially impious) -- foolish (both male and female), vile person.” That hits the mark. It shows why the atheist is a “fool.”
