Hover over Romans 1:20-22 for proof of God's existence, and over Matthew 5:27-28 for Judgment Day’s perfect standard. Then hover over John 3:16-18 for what God did, and over Acts 17:30-31 for what to do.

Women Listed with Property

"Comfort, I don't think we've ever heard your spin and obfuscation on the Tenth Commandment. Why are wives listed with things like oxen, houses, asses, which are property?" Rufus

It seems that you have Judaism mixed up with other religions, such as Hinduism, that treat wives as mere property. The Tenth Commandment is a list of things we are told not to lust after (covetousness is an unlawful desire). I'm sure you would agree that men tend to lust after women. So, women are in the list. The association with other things we covet has nothing to do with their worth.

Judaism treats women with the utmost respect. In the Old Testament they are entrusted with high political places, and if you take the time to read Proverbs 31 you will see that they are given great honor. In the New Testament husbands are told to love their wives "as Christ loved the Church and gave Himself for it." You can't honor someone more than that. So your inference that the Bible treats women as property is unfounded.

Why does evolution consider wives to be primates?
