“Listen to what the Bible says in Genesis 9:6 says: ‘Whoever sheds man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made He man.’ You can’t murder a horse, a cat or a cow. You can kill them, but you can’t murder them. The word ‘murder’ is reserved for human beings, because we are ‘made in the image of God.’ We are unique among creation. We set up court systems and spend billions to bring criminals to justice. Animals don’t do that. But we do it because God has made us in His image, and He has given us a sense of right and wrong. We are not mere animals, as evolution believers would have us believe. We are uniquely moral. We therefore have moral responsibility, and will be held accountable by God, both as a nation and as individuals.
“Johnny, I see some frightening parallels between what happened in Germany and what’s happening now in the United States. Hitler killed six million Jews, but we have slaughtered ten times that amount through legalized abortion. When Germany was deeply in debt the German people turned to a charismatic politician as their savior, rather than to God. There were only a few Jeremiah’s in those days that had the courage to preach about sin and the need to repent, and most of them were killed off for what they said. We are in a similar plight right now. We are in an unprecedented economic crisis, and many (even within the Church) are looking for a savior...someone who will help us out of our fiscal chaos. We want a godly man in the White House. We want a politician that will stand up for that which is right and just, but when we look at the Church of the Book of Acts, we don’t see them pinning their hopes in politics. Their hope was only in God, and they uncompromisingly proclaimed the Gospel of Salvation. Their number one concern was that men and women would be saved from a very real Hell. That agenda was far more important to them than the nation’s economy. They were seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, because they knew that the “economic” need of food and clothing would be added to those who obey the gospel. They knew that when a man or woman is born again, their heart changes. When someone is regenerated by the Holy Spirit they love the things that God loves, and hate the things that God hates. When we talk to people about abortion, we don’t want them saying, ‘You are right. You have convinced me. I’m now pro-life, but I’m still pro-homosexual marriage and pro-pornography.’ Arguments may change a man’s mind, politics may change his government, but the gospel changes his heart. If we can get the engine on the right track, the carriages of this nation’s worldview will come into line.
